 | Hello,
I'm a 23 y-o. girl from Bordeaux, France, and I would like to wish a very happy New Year to my friend Pernilla and her husband Alex in Sweden (Stockholm). They are now on holiday in New-Zealand for a few weeks. The problem is that I don't have a sufficiently good command of your language in other to write my text in Swedish so that they will be very surprised when they will receive it. Can I ask to a nice gentleman - or gentlelady - to send me a Swedish translation of my text hereunder ? That would be very kind, and I'm sure your compatriots will appreciate !
Takk så mycket fra Juliette.

"Hi Pernilla,
New year, new projects and new expectations ! Yes, we have finally entered 2005 from - maybe - not the most enjoyable door with all this tragedy in Asia. But all I can wish for those people is the rise of a fair shining sun after the dark clouds that have shadowed the hope and the future of many families so far.
I was in Paris for vacation last week, walking along the Champs-Elysées, looking at the nice Christmas illumination in the City center, near the Town Hall or in the student district (Quartier Latin). As usual, the center was pretty crowded, and I'm always amazed by the huge queues of people waiting for climbing up the Eiffel tower of wanting to enter famous Parisian clubs (Lido, Crazy Horse,...) even at... 3h00 AM ! During my walks, I was thinking of you, of your daily life now in Auckland, and of the way New-Zealand people are celebrating the New Year's Eve. And I said: "Well, time is now to wish them all the good things they're expecting, all the best in their lives, and even much more for the next 365 days". So I took a pencil and I decided to write in my best Swedish all these words I deeply had in my heart at this time.
Please let me conclude this letter by wishing you, Alex, and all your family a very very wonderful year 2005. The year during which all the dreams come true.
A very huge kiss from France,
Juliette.
PS: I'm not sure of your address in New-Zealand, since I've not received any news from you for a while. I nevertheless hope that I'm right, so that you maybe could send me a reply..."
