Dec. 24, 2004 "Nikkan Sports" newspaper
University of Tokyo on Dec. 24, 2004 announced punishment
of two professors for ual harassment.
One professor had already retired (or resigned).
The other professor [Sasaki] in his 50's of ??? Dept was
suspended for two months for ual harassment against a
female student.
Both men admit to the facts of the cases, but assert that
their "conduct did not constitute ual harassment."
According to University of Tokyo, around spring 2003 the
professor of ??? Dept started demanding to a student whom
he was advising that she accompany him to [private]
overseas trip(s). When she
declined, he repeatedly verbally abused her using
insulting language.
Even after she changed her thesis advisor, the professor
sent multiple email messages to the student, threatening
that she would be unable to obtain a degree unless she
returns to his "tutelage."
(As a result, the student was unable to eat or sleep due
to emotional distress.)

東大教授がセクハラ行為で停職 元教授も諭旨解雇相当に
東京大学は２４日、５０代の教授＝総合文化研究科＝が学生
にセクハラ行為を繰り返したとして、２カ月の停職処分にした
と発表した。
さらに、今年６月に海外出張費の不正取得が発覚して退職した
元教授（６１）＝理学研究科＝に対し、在職中にセクハラ行為
があったとして、諭旨解雇相当と文書で通知した。
東大によると、総合文化研究科の教授は昨年春ごろから、指
導する女子学生に海外旅行に同行するよう誘い、拒絶されると
侮辱的な言葉で非難を繰り返したという。
指導教官が交代した後も「自分の指導下に戻らないと学位が取
得できない」などと複数回、電子メールを送ったとされる。

女子学生にセクハラ、東大教授２人処分
女子学生と女子職員に性行為強制などセクハラをしたとして
、東大は２４日、大学院理学系研究科の片山武司元教授（６１
）に対し、諭旨解雇相当と通知した。片山元教授は既に退職し
ている。
また、総合文化研究科の５０代の男性教授についても、女子学
生へのセクハラ行為があったとして停職２カ月の処分にした。
２人とも事実関係は認めているが「セクハラ行為ではなかった
」と話しているという。

総合文化研究科の教授は指導する女子学生に対し、海外旅行
に同行するように繰り返し要求。女子学生は食事や睡眠が取れ
ない状況に追い込まれた。
