 | Hi, first post here - well for a long time anyway.
I am after some help on where to get a gag/mouth cover that can be locked in place on my partner so that she could not remove it even with her hands free.
Idea is to leave her free but unable to eat or drink and with her speech restricted or silenced.
Don't want to go so far as a hood. Already have a leather neck corset that comes up far enough to cover her mouth and stops her opening her mouth but this is time consuming and a bit more restrictive than I want.
Any ideas. She gags easily so holding her mouth wide open or putting too much inside is not an option.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes indeed, I gagged when I was having some dental X rays done a couple of years ago!

Doesn't do it for me either, but I know at least one top who's specifically kinked for putting his fingers down his partner's throat to make her gag. Ugol et al.

I can see it. It's a control and power issue. To make someone uncomfortable, to take the power from them by triggering a very unpleasant reflex, and there's also a lot of baggage about not being "dirty" which can really get to someone.

 | If you don't have a saddlery near you, go to a pet store and buy a rubber bone. Get a long shoestring and tie it tight to each end. Cut the ends of the shoestring off to get rid of those little plastic string ends. You now have a large loop. Snip the shoestring in the middle and that converts it into 2 ties. When you tie it on, make sure the knot is tight. Then cut off the excess. It's not lockable, but if the knots are tight enough in the shoestring, they can't be untied. The way out is with scissors or a knife, so hide those.

Go to a saddlery, get a pony sized rubber bit.
Go to a petshop, get a dog collar.
If you have leatherworking gear, use that to attach collar to bit, else in a pinch you can use cable ties instead.
The advantage of bit gags is that you can vomit through them as long as you can get your head leaned well forward. This meansthat locking on isn't as dangerous as it would be with a more restrictive gag.
Note that if she wants to, she can drink through it, but at that point you will need to work on why she wants to - you have a problem that's nothing to do with bondage. The bit gag makes a good "reason" not to, but not a complete prevention.

Forgot to add... for the locking part you have a couple of options.
The easiest is to punch or drill a hole in the colar near the buckle and a matching one in the part of the collar that goes through the buckle, so that when the strap is buckled to the right size, the holes line up. THen slip a small padlock through both. You can, of course, omit the buckle entirely and just use the padlock to join the straps.
Another is possible with a larger buckle, you lock the padlock around the tongue of the buckle.
You can do the same thing with cableties instead of padlocks. They can be easier to manipulate, and more aesthetically pleasing, but not as psychologically impressive. And you need decent snips to get them off.

Well, my initial thought was to try http://www.pxdirect.com/ -- they carry prison-style restraints, including hoods and mouth covers, etc. Unfortunately, their hoods, mouth covers, etc., are made to be used with an otherwise restrained prisoner and, undoubtedly for safety reasons, are not designed to be locked on. A fun browse, nonetheless, which is why I mention them and provide the link. :)
So moving right along to some of my favorite folks, Daryl and Wolfgang at http://www.eatleather.com/ -- they can provide you with exactly what you want: a wrap and strap arrangement which can be locked, with a made-to-order-size-and-shape gag, which is the sort of thing they made for me. I have TMJ syndrome, so have trouble with large gags (and I've [okay, my *parents* have] spent a fortune on my teeth, so I wanted something other than a dildo-type gag which puts a lot of pressure on the front teeth), so Daryl came up with a t-shaped gag, which is thinner in the front and thicker where it sits between the molars. I'm sure you could persuade him to make another (he said it was a pain in the ass to turn through the narrow part). The gag and strap are attached with a large velcro pad, which makes it possible to have several gags of varying severity -- or just several gags so they can dry out between uses, which is a nice thing, too. If you decide to contact them, please mention that Jacqui who moved to Denmark recommended you. :)
And if you're in the London area (I notice the .uk in your message ID), there's a very nice shop on Holloway Road near the Islington tube station called Fettered Pleasures: http://www.fetteredpleasures.com/ -- they have probably the most comprehensive inventories I've ever seen, and if you don't see what you need, they can probably recommend someone who does or can make what you want.
And don't forget to stop in to see House of Harlot next door: http://www.houseofharlot.com/
Hope this helps. -j
