 | I am writing a graduate paper in American Popular Culture about the Lifetime Television network. Lifetime TV consistently ranks highly in ratings for cable stations - especially during prime time and most of its viewers are (of course) women.
I am trying to discover why Lifetime TV resonates with American women - specifically why they find the Lifetime movies so compelling.
If you are a Lifetime viewer could you please post: o Why do the movies speak to you? o What kind of movies appeal to you the most? o Roughly what age group are you (Baby boomer, Gen-Xer, etc.) o What kind of flack do you get about being a Lifetime fan?
Thanks for all help.

 | I am also a graduate student needing people to help me with my research by filling out surveys, so I would love to pay it forward by answering your questions, no matter how humiliating it may be for me to admit that I enjoy Lifetime television. :)
I wouldn't say that the movies "speak" to me, but they always seem to make the female the hero and the guy the villian, and there's something entertaining about that.
The movies that appeal to me the most are the ones that are more realistic to life. Some of the Lifetime movies are pretty ridiculous, so the ones I enjoy are the ones that are not completely far-fetched.
I'm a Gen-Xer
I get SO MUCH flack for watching Lifetime. Not only from the occasional movie, but the fact that I will stay up that extra half hour just to catch an episode of The Golden Girls, even though it's an episode I've seen three hundred times. I have to admit though, I make fun of myself about it more than other people do. :)
I hope your research goes well.
