 | Regardless of how the marriage debate is eventually resolved, the fact that
we are having this debate and that it arouses such passion shows the resiliency
and perennial relevancy of marriage.
Back in the 1970s, many people were predicting the demise of marriage, calling
the very practice of it "oppressive." The s and lesbians who want to marry
have conclusively proven them wrong.
