 | "An African Childhood" by Alexandra Fuller. Any one here read this book? Is it an accurate account of life in Africa [Rhodesia, Zambia & Malawi] from 1972 until the mid 80's?

Yes and get a hold of Hazel Crane's book as well. It contains a lot of stuff about SA and Rhod that never made the newspapers. Hazel Crane managed to consort with Winnie Mandela as well as some serious apartheid enforcers that managed to duck past the TRC. Peter Stiff's upcoming new book will fill in a few of the gaps that one may perceive in the other books.
The book that I would really love to see is an expose on the life and times of Ken Flowers. who was reportedly a close confidante cum employee of both Harold Wilson and Ian Smith at different times in his life.

Knew her when she was just a snotty kid i did. Someone read some excerpts to me the other day and I was surprised at what some of the people that I knew had been getting up to. Stiff's new book will show that it was a little more than the Israeli mob.
I still want to know if Ken Flowers has published his memoirs yet. He was the geezer that was apparently employed intermittently by the Brit secret service and the Rhodesian army spooks on some sort of a rotational basis. They say that he was responsible for the insecticide soaked clothes that were supplied to shops in areas that harboured terrorists. Word on the dusty bushpath also atrributes him with the development of the transistor radio that exploded when tuned to Radio Freedom, and Depo Provera contraceptive laced headache pills. I believe that he also introduced the penis mutilation interrogation technique that is now used with such devastating effect on current day Zimbabwean dissidents. Other urban legends also say that this method was used on Bob the Gob, resulting in permanent damage and this is why he became such a nutcase. (Others say it is the clap)

The cause of the removal of one testicle was syphilis. I was told that the surgeon - not interrogator - who performed the op left the country as soon as it became obvious that Mugabe was going to hold the reins. Mugabe's performance, in office, over the years would certainly indicate that the syphilis had a latent effect

Latent means 'secret, hidden', I don't think that the effects on Uncle Bob have been very hidden or secret, it's been obvious that he's barking for ages.

They have found that he is a closet Yorkshireman - when you spell his name backwards it is e -ba - gum.
Just for interest sake do any of the subscribers have an endgame scenario on Bob? When do you think he will terminate? Who will succeed him? Will Zanu PF ba able to sustain his iron rule?

The interviews with Kevin Woods that are available elsewhere on the net would indicate something like this. Naturally Kevin's circumstances meant that he could not be too specific.
