Hello,

I am trying to find some general material properties of 54SiCr6 as used in
automotive suspension applications for coil springs. Can anyone direct me to
a source of this info? I need data such as yield, density etc all I can find
is material composition.

Thanks.

Not accurate for commercial use, but if you needed to know accurately you
would not be asking here.

Thank you David. At the risk of sounding even more incapable can you
translate "Streckgrenze" and "Zugfestigkeit". Thanks

Works fairly well, unless you are translating technical German, of
which...is difficult for even Germans. Seems they string together a whole
English sentence into ONE word.....hehe

You can't 'idiot proof' anything....every time you try, they just make
better idiots.

For basic words like tensile strength and yield strength Babelfish will
work. For more advanced words I use technical dictionaries or European
standards for technical terms.

For better translations of single words you can try

Thank you Michael,

I did try google before asking here, unfortunately I couldn't find the info
I needed. Stahlschlüssel seems to be a CD-ROM which has to be paid for? I
don't have any other access to it.

I don't know what EN is, could you explain?

Thank you.
