As you point out, there are just too many unknowns not taken into
consideration.
I personally think in regards to college, motivation has a great deal
to do with success.
Also, a test (and even grades for that matter) does not take into
account stress--a student's parents are getting divorced, a student is
pregnant, a student's grandmother is dying, ect. ect.
As in the Tort. and the Hare. The Hare had the advantage, but did not
win.
