The huge Rock band "Korn" sings out against excessive TV violence in the
music video "Here to Stay"

http://www.korntv.com/movs/heretostayfullvid_300.asx

Excessive violence on American television isn't creating a stronger country.
It's creating a weaker, less able country. Violence creates weakness and
incompetence, not strength and ability.

In the song's chorus, lead singer Jonathan Davis sings about "bringing down
the TV violence" and "this shit's gone way too far". Excessive violence on
American TV can cause nervous breakdowns in people who have gone 3 or 4 days
straight with no sleep.

The 'Here to Stay (live)' version of the music video is here

Song lyrics to "Here to Stay"

This time, taking it away
I've got a problem, with me getting in the way,
Not by design
So I take my face and bash it into a mirror.
I won't have to see the pain
This state is elevating, as the hurt turns into hating.
Anticipating, all the fucked up feelings again.

The hurt inside is fading
This shit gone way too far.

All this time I've been waiting
No I can not grieve anymore.
For what's inside awaking.
I'm not, I'm not a whore
You've taken everything and oh I can not give anymore.

My mind is done with this
Okay, I've got a question.
"Can I throw it all away?"

Take back what's mine?
So I take my time,

guiding the blade down the line
Each cut closer to the vein

This state is elevating, as the hurt turns into hating.
Anticipating, all the fucked up feelings again.
The hurt inside is fading
This shit gone way too far.
All this time I've been waiting
No I can not grieve anymore.
For what's inside awaking.
I'm not, I'm not a whore
You've taken everything and oh I can not give anymore.

I'm here to stay (bring it down) [x4]
Bring it down [x4]
Gonna break it down [x7]
GONNA BREAK IT!

Give anymore. [X4]

Wow! It's going to take a while to get through all the archaeological
content in that. Not sure if it contains much Nordic culture content
though, maybe you should have put a little more thought into the newsgroups
this would actually be on-topic in.

Don't mind the occasional rock band postings. :) These are made by a
musician who shares this computer. I work with a lot of creative people.:)

I'll ask her if she can post these to the music or activist newsgroups
instead. :)
