 | I have come upon a pair of Eheim 2215 filters. Both make much more noise than I expected, and not even close to the near-silent running of a 2224 that I use. Pump output seems quite normal.
Right off I replaced the obviously worn rotors with new ones. The ceramic shaft and rubber bushings that support it seemed in good condition and not worn. I cleaned the impeller housing carefully, and have repeated the dissassembly and cleaning without improvement.
I can feel more vibration on the top cover of the 2215 than with other canisters that I have used. The noise goes down noticeably by pressing down slightly on the top. Perhaps it is rattling slightly due to vibration.
Is this typical of the series, or should it be better ?
Geo.
