 | G'day people, I've just finished making my third big juggling video. This one is more or less a documentary of my first week of owning clubs. It's really quite stupid... Anyway, I should be talking it up, rather than putting it down - umm... it's got cool music... uh... Oh whatever, just download it anyway!

Hola, Tom. Nice video, very entertaining! Like you I will probably learn 7 balls before I get 3 clubs solid. :)

Hey yeah I liked the spinning news paperat the start...I laughed so hard when u got it in the eye with the club ahahaha.
Yeah I was really struggling catching 4 clubs because when I caught the second one in each hand it was always an alful catch and made this alful crack sound. but daniel told me it was just practice and I didn't believe him, but eventually it does just work, same with three club you don't have to dedicate time to it just like get three clubs in one hand and through them from one hand to another. I tried to always catch the second one from 2 in one hand because you can focus more on the catch since there is only 2 clubs. LOl i know something that helped 4 clubs for me was watching Tobey Walker's WJF video every day and getting the rhythm of his 4 clubs - I love that video.
But yeah if you like balls better than clubs thats cool, just fool around on them and make up some crazy original stuff.

That ruled. The spinning newspaper gag at the beginning hooked me. I'm impressed by how close you got to a five-club flash in just a week. Didn't hear the (allegedly) cool music though; I've got a bit of a sound issue here at the moment. No doubt I missed out on something. Great video nonetheless.

Well, to be perfectly fair, I've been able to juggle 3 clubs for almost a year, I've just never owned any, or ever really bothered learning anything with them until now. And I think a 5 club flash is going to take an awfully long time, as I have considerable trouble even catching 2 clubs in my left hand. I've had about 40 or so catches with 4 clubs, and yet haven't managed to flash and collect yet!
Unfortunately, I think that clubs actually require dedicated practice, and I'm more used to just juggling more or less randomly. I hate having to devote time to actually learning something as tedious (however useful it may be) as catching 3 clubs in one hand. Hopefully it'll just come with time anyway, without me having to properly practice it...

You'll also have missed out on my inane voice over... I don't think you missed anything on that front though!

Yes, the song is awesome. Muse is a good band. If I ever made a juggling video that would have been one of my songs. :)

 | I really like the video. It's great to see nicely edited videos of unmythical (to use Garnav's terminology) people actually having fun while juggling. Keep at it! __________________ Itsik Orr http://www.juggler.net/orr http://www.ijc.co.il

 | Hey Tom,
I can't watch your video. Is there a way you can change your site so the videos can be directly saved, and so that the filename can be like www.jugglethis.net/ jugglingvideo.mov (.wmv, .mpg etc)

I prefer the direct link to be displayed on the web page and not the auto download thing. To be honest i've never cared for php websites either, but it's no big deal, just a matter of preference - a link would be nice along with the file description tom, just to save me arsing about when i want to download something. Just a suggestion though, you'll get more people leeching that way i guess lol. You can try this link if you want static, this is where the file actually is:
http://www.jugglethis.net/filemgmt_data/files/jugglingtom3.avi
you can use your favourite download manager now :), hope that helps,
oh - and cool video tom, although, i'd like to see more of your ball stuff to be honest, not that i've got room to talk - i'll make a video some day though,
Adam

You can avoid this problem by skipping the flash and going straight to a run of 100 without a clean finish.

Nice. Entertaining video. God I love the look of radical fish ying/yang clubs.
Um, I thought I was actually going to write something worthwhile when I clicked "Reply", but I guess not.

So do I, that's partly why I waited until I had the money to buy good clubs as my first set, rather than getting some crap ones to start with, breaking them, and then buying good ones later. I figure I'll save money in the long run this way...

No, I haven't got much useful to say either. Oh well, Sydney Juggling Convention starts in less than two hours! w00t!

Well yes, mine provider does (though they're really not particularly useful). However, if people download it through the PHP method, the database gets updated, and other people looking at the site can see the number of downloads. Hence the "pop" icon that pops (no pun intended) up when a video exceeds I think 50 downloads... It's not a major problem not having that, but my ego likes to be stroked every now and again!
Also, if people use the site rather than a file link, then they have the opportunity to rate the file, add comments, etc. Whilst it isn't used as much as I'd hoped it would be, this was one of the most attractive bits of the software I'm using for me.

Like Adam said, http://www.jugglethis.net/filemgmt_data/files/jugglingtom3.avi is the actual address. I prefer the PHP thingy because that way I can track the number of downloads, etc. But it's no big deal really. If people like it this way I'll start putting in both links from now on.
I'm surprised you can't access it through the PHP way. How old is your browser? I can assure you Safari (which from memory is what you're using) is perfectly happy with PHP sites...

The server logs downloads anyway, no matter how they're initiated. Putting that functionality in the business logic layer is unnecessary.

Assuming of course that your hosting provider either gives you access to the log files, or provides you with some analysis of said logs...
Not all do.
