Folks,

I just wanted to get the word out that Juggler's Rest hostel in
Picton, New Zealand is under new management and better than ever.
There has been some negative messages here about that place and I
wanted to state for the record that I just spent 10 fun-filled days
there chilling out, working and, oh yeah, juggling. And they painted
too.

Check it out if you can. Picton is pretty nice too, in a relaxed,
under-stated way.

Glad to hear it! Unfortunately, the only time I visited the Juggler's Rest
I was left standing out in the rain early on a Sunday morning, then when
the door was answered I was turned away as the jugglers who were staying
there had gone out for the day. I'm from Christchurch (NZ), and was
surprised to be sent out into the rain - I didn't even make it inside. Was
left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth about that as I've been juggling
in NZ for 12 years and had looked forward to visiting the Rest for a very
long time.

I'll be passing through Picton on my way to and from the NZ Juggling
Festival, hopefully I'll have enough time to see the Rest this time! Hope
it all goes well Leif,

Mike

A lot of nice people were pissed on by Gary and Pauline.
Welcome to the club. Consider it a compliment.

I'm not even sure if it was Gary I met. I didn't even get the opportunity
to introduce myself!

I've heard some stories about Gary and Pauline, mostly good, some bad. I
lived with Sugra for 18 months and he knew them quite well.

Just out of curiosity, who has taken over?

He probably told you about the time G&P kicked him out of their van, and
left him stranded on the roadside, halfway between Chch and Kaikoura.
Nice people !

You may like to know why the NZ Juggling Festivals aren't called
Conventions. It's becoz G&P still own the rights to the phrase.

Dunno. Someone more suited to being friendly to tourists.

Yup, I've heard that story...as only Sugra can tell it. That being said,
Picton is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and if the
jugglers rest is indeed under new management then I've no doubt it will be
a wonderful place to stay!

Have I met you before, Mrs Norris?
