 | I just purchased a new Savage Mark II-FNSXP, 22 cal., bolt action rifle from Dick's Sporting Goods at a sale price of $142.95. The Indianapolis, IN store is being closed and moved to another nearby location. The rifle is unusual in that it is exactly like the Mark II-FVXP shown on the Savage web site but it has a tapered barrel rather than a bull barrel. It also came with one 10 round magazine rather than the five round magazine that comes with the FV.
The provided scope is the 8 point Simmons 3-9x40/AO Weaver scope blocks were already mounted and the dovetail grooves, fixed sights and their mounting holes/cuts on the Mark II-F and Mark II-FXP are missing.
It seems like a very nice rifle for $142.95. Does anyone have any experience with this particular package model?
