I'm comtemplating a move to the Twin Cities area and wanted to know what the
shooting was like there. Any good outdoor/indoor ranges?

Thanks!

The Department of Natural Resources has a list on the web at
. I've just
glanced through the full list, and it seems to include all the ranges
I normally think of in the area, so it's not too bad a list.

All the ranges I know are either all-indoor short pistol ranges, or
else all-outdoor setups (often with covered shooting positions). (The
pistol ranges sometimes allow light rifle calibers, but are mostly 25
yards long). I haven't been in all the club facilities, though.

The most well known indoor range is Bill's Gun Range in Robbinsdale.(You
can even rent machine guns:)
Metro Gun Club is in the north suburbs and has indoor pistol, outdoor
trap, etc.
Right near Metro in one calle Armored Fire Gunshop and Range.
Also a trap/skeet range in Anoka area, a NW suburb.
Probably more that I don't know about.

The Minnesota DNR used to have a directory of the ranges in the State.
Don't know if it's still there or how up-to-date it is.

Yes. I strongly prefer Burnsville Pistol Range (which is, non-oddly
enough, in Burnsville) -- see http://www.bvpistol.com -- but there's
also Bill's Gun Range in Robbinsdale and Armored Fire in Blaine.

There's also a few gun clubs in the area, including Oakdale Gun Club
(of which I'm a member) in Oakdale.
