I placed an order from the Marlin web site on Jan.3 (for swivels).
Yesterday I got a call from Marlin to confirm my address. Further research
reveals that without notification on the site or in the automated confirming
e-mail I got soon after placing the order, they apparently sat on all orders
for over 2 weeks, closing the facility for vacation. I could have made my
purchase in any of a dozen places, but having no use for two sets, had to
sit on my hands waiting for a delivery I expected to arrive every day after
the first few days. I do a lot of internet purchases and some from outfits
a lot smaller than Marlin, but never ran into this highhanded treatment
before. Mickey Mouse direct sales operation and lousy customer service IMO.

Most every order I've placed with Mickey over the years have been received
in days, 4 or 5. I always talk to Minnie, did you go to the top also?

That is unfortunate.

Try buying something from Browning sometime. The last part I bought (a
BOSS spacer) took over a year to be delivered!

I've ordered a number of items from Marlin with no complaints. I noticed a
few weeks back when I was going to order sling swivels that a notice was
posted about the facility being closed for a time. I just waited and
ordered them two days ago. Doesn't seem like they were out of line
considering the notice that was posted.

There was no notice when I placed my order, nor in the e-mail sent
acknowledging it.

I'm not surprised. A company that primarily makes and sells spec products
into wholesale distribution channels is unlikely to be very skilled at
direct retail sales. Fortunately, they make very good rifles, top value
for less dollars. - CW
