EAS Regency Dance Workshop Sunday, January 9, 2005 1:00-4:00pm
This is my regular monthly workshop on dances suitable for early nineteenth century (Regency, Jane Austen, Napoleonic Wars) England. We'll be looking at a French quadrille figure, a Royal Scotch Quadrille figure, and a country dance, as well as a bit of waltz and a bit of Scotch reel.
No previous experience is needed and no partner is necessary. Flat shoes or dance slippers are strongly recommended; street shoes are not allowed on the dance floor.
The full calendar for first Sunday Regency workshops and other EAS events and workshops is at: http://www.elegantarts.org/calendar05.html.
All material is taken directly from primary sources and reconstructed by yours truly. If you have questions about it, email research@elegantarts.org.
Cost is $15 in general; $10 if this is your first time at one of our workshops.
Please RSVP to: nyc@elegantarts.org - the number of people we are expecting affects how I prepare for the class! (You can still show up if you didn't RSVP.)
Location: Actors Movement Studio, 37th & 8th, New York City. For directions, see our webpage, http://www.elegantarts.org/classprac.html
