Laura Me' Smith continues her tradition at Fifth Saturday dances
that reaches back to the beginnings of this series in 1994 at Temple
De Hirsch, Seattle, and later at the Aquabarn, Renton WA. Her dance
programs are well crafted, and her teaching is natural and comfortable
to follow.
Small Pleasures, the ongoing band of the 5th Saturday Dance,
has a great time playing in a traditional style.
We play "close to the dancers"; matching our tune sets to the style
and mood of the dances in Laura Me's program.
We're faithful to the regional styles of our tunes, which come
from throughout the Northern U.S., Canada, and the British Isles;
bringing you "inside" those traditions

The dance Jan. 29 runs 8:00 - 11:00 pm; the cost is $7.00

* Bring your friends you've been wanting to introduce to contra dancing to
the NEWCOMERS' WORKSHOP at 7:30. Laura Me' is wonderful at leaving newcomers
feeling at ease, while they learn the basics. Once the dance starts,
there's our tradition of asking newcomers and visitors to dance, and looking
after them on the dance floor.
LOCATION: Christ Church Wells Hall
