Dude, my cards are out in the car and it's cold outside. No offense, I ain't getting dressed and going out just for you!! :)
Just put them into a SC, practice "pass through." Then do some glossary figures. It doesn't matter who they end up with because they'll take their partner with them. After you've worked through the list, drop the needle and give it a try. (IIRC Kentucky running sets don't necessarily stay with the music's A and B parts. Do it like that.) Then do something like "Come Haste" (good luck finding that tune at a danceable tempo!) so they can learn about 64 beats. And a simple contra like Dud's Reel (which I modify to put the ladies' chain parts contiguous) or Haymaker's/Lady of the Lake.
A group of new folks who've been woodshed in advance of a "real" dance will have a grand time. Good luck!

Awwww! Please? Pretty please with sugar on top?
;-)
(Gotta say that I *love* living in the Bay Area. Except that it's been raining for roughly two straight weeks now.)

Sounds like a plan. What I meant about not worrying about partners was that I'm thinking of sticking in some half ladies chain and some 1.5 turn men's allemande to switch partners around. Good idea?
