Hi all,

Spice had a good report on her tendon. Able now to trot 20 minutes a day
(45' total riding per day), and turnout and begin canter work in 1 month.
Had the vet at the U look at the mysterious bump on her butt (see my post
re: equine chiropractor). She ultrasounded it and pronounced it "no big
deal", meaning no ligamentous disruption, swelling, gross displacement,
etc.... Obviously a sacral something, "hunter's bump" off to one side, but
she feels it will be nearly invisible once she gets her muscle back.
Suggested hill and cavaletti work to keep hind muscles strong, (once the
tendon injury allows it), but no other treatment. Told me very unlikely it
will go away, but also unlikely it will ever cause problems. Well, alright
then, but it REALLY bugs me that she has this bump. Oh well, I'll try to
relax.

Oh yeah. She's been on a diet, and lost 80 lbs (was a whoppin' 1595, and was
1515 today with her winter blanket on!) Vet says her weight is great, now
just need to redevelop her topline and she'll look like a pro. Looking
forward to increasing her work!

That's great news...the tendon and the bump! I'm glad to hear that Spice's
recovery is still moving along nicely. So, yeah, try to relax (this coming
from me of all people - I worry about everything).

That's good news too. She's going to be slim and trim and in fine form in
no time I'm sure! Thanks for posting your good news. JJ

Sharon, you know, if I could find one I trust, I would try it. I am not
believing that it's impossible to make that bump go away. Now use yer
head... The bump came up suddenly over night. Vet has said it's due to
a slight displacement. Geez. Couldn't ya just get it in the right
position, a quick thrust and BAM, it's back in position??? Admit it,
you're curious...

But anyway, I'm not going to keep searching high and low for something
that MAY not matter (according to the vet). I'm just going to count my
blessings for now, and hope that once she's back out at pasture she'll
wiggle it back "in place" on her own.

And quit using the term "chiropractic" with me!!! I am talking strictly
about joint manipulation/mobilization, which has a very specific
meaning to me. So there:)

Yeah but what about continuing the debate on chiropractic?!?! ;)

Glad she's getting better. A light at the end of the tunnel.
