Why can't we export mail from the contact view.
We can export from a filter, but no from a contact.
Why not?

I'd guess that it's because the contacts are maintained in a seperate file
from the messages, but I'm not sure that's the reason. The contacts do,
however, display the messages from said contact, so there're at least
indexes for it. Maybe it's just not been thought of before.

Maybe. But if you select an existing contact and press 'A' or use 'Add contact' from the context menu, the contact will not be duplicated, but will show up under 'Active contacts' in the mail panel, where the 'Export' option is available.

Because the contacts panel is not a list of message views, but of contacts. But it is a nice idea to add export capabilities here.
