 | I have cookies set to "ask me every time I receive one", both for normal and for third-party cookies. I mostly reject third-party cookies, but there are a few sites that need them to work properly. However, the cookie manager does not remember the setting if I select "refuse third-party cookies from this domain". If I get a 3rd party cookie and say "refuse", it is refused for the current session, but if I check in Tools-Advanced-Cookies, there is no entry for the domain.
I tried removing my cookies4.dat file to get as close as possible to a "blank" installation, but the problems remain.
Example: Go to www.faz.net and you will get a third-party cookie from adserver.adtech.de (or rather three). In the cookie dialog, I select "refuse third-party cookies from this domain" and click refuse. I check Tools-Advanced-Cookies and search for "adserver", but there is no entry for it. Why not?

If the cookie is set by an ad in an iframe, it may not be a third-party cookie. Beyond that I can't particularly say.

 | I forgot to say: I run opera 8.0 beta 1 build 913 on Redhat 9 i686, kernel 2.4.22. This also occurred in earlier versions, at least since 7.50.
