 | I have a hosts file with a heap of advertising servers listed. With Opera
7.54 everything was fine. I've upgraded to 8.0 beta 1, and now I get a
connection "hang" everytime Opera tries to resolve one of these
advertising servers, with the message 'Connecting to remote host xxxx'.
I do not have the opera ad servers blocked, as was mentioned in another
post.
Any way around this? It really slows my browsing down.

Opera 8.0 Beta 1. Build 913 for Linux. Qt library 3.0.5
Maybe try selecting Synchronous DNS, to see if that changes the
symptoms. (just a guess).
