Hi!

I recently installed Opera 8 beta for Linux and noticed that there are
closing-buttons integrated inside the tabs... okay.

But if I open like 50 tabs or so, it istn't possible to switch to another
tab any more, because I'd hit the close-button.

What should I do? Is this behaviour configurable, and if, how?

TIA,
Julius

Hello Julius,
the behaviour is configurable.

See Tools -> Preferences -> Windows

The option "Advanced Opera workspace" switches back to the known style
from the previous versions.

Bye,
Stefan

I think, the following feature would be fine: The closing-button is shown
only at the active tab. Customable?

Best ragards.

Only through some slick skinning. Some of the skins for 7.60 P2 resized
the close button on inactive tabs to 0x0.

There is an option to revert to the old classic MDI behavior. Preferences,
Windows, [x] Advanced Opera workspace.

- use the windows panel
- use a wrapping pagebar
- open less pages at once
- switch back to classic MDI buttons, as described in the changelog and offered in the first-time statup dialog (Tools>Prefs>Windows>Advanced Opera workspace)
