 | Hello
I'd like to use a download manager with opera (something like getright) but that could actually be USED with opera (I never managed to get getright going despite using the tutorial on their site), i have tried freshdownload that says it can integrate with opera but of course it doesn't...
Thanks for the help and tips

Ok, digging further I think I have a more serious problem.
It seems that opera is not seeing the plugins I install
I have copied the relevant dll into the plugin folder ( npgetrt1.dll, npgetrt2.dll and npgetrt3.dll from getright and fdplugin.dll from freshdownload) but when i try to edit the octet-stream MIME type the plugin list is not even opening, the drop down list never appears.
Is there a way to make a forced refresh so that opera sees my plugins ?
I have tried "tools, advanced, plugins" and sure enough the getright and freshdownload don't appear in the list of installed plugins.
I have closed and restarted the program but it does not help
Using 7.54u
Thanks

Have you checked these? http://www.freshdevices.com/faq.html http://www.opera.com/support/search/supsearch.dml?index=760
If that plug-in truly works with Opera, then there must be some other dependent dll (or other support file) missing from Opera's plugin folder. As a test or temporary work-around, perhaps you could add the Fresh Download installation folder to your PATH. Hopefully then, all the dependent files would be found. Occassionally, I use Filemon from sysinternals.com to discover such missing file dependencies.
If that doesn't work, I susgest a follow-up to the opera.plugins newsgroup. Perhaps someone there is more familiar with this plug-in.

Try the preferences > file types. If you use getright (as I do) you need to change some handling by opening the individual type and selecting either getright plugin or the simpler togetright mini-program (in the getright folder). To install the plugin in the opera folder, open getrights configuration (in 5.2a) and select 'more browsers> opera and netscape 4.5' apply & ok. Restart windows (or OS). The system should copy to the folder, and then you will see it on the plugins page. -- Lester Stiefel In Romans 1 there are qualities of Unregenerate man listed which describe him in the last days. Is your quality found on this list??

Close down Opera and restart it. During startup it will scan all files in the paths shown on the About Opera page.

Again, that function reads all files in the plugin paths. The indication is that the plugin folder where you put the getright and freshdownload files is _not_ in the plugin path being used by Opera.

That did the trick, this BASTARD (ranting at full steam) installed the plugins not in the "opera/plugin" folder but in the "opera/program/plugin"....
silly me but silly him too
