 | Dick Smith has this recorder on sale at the moment :G1845 $298
Any one have any experience with it??
(The DSE Mustek ones seem to have been pretty unreliable)

No expereince with it but if it had timeslip I would defintely be very
interested, unfortunately it doesn't so I will have to be patient and wait a
little longer for a sub $500 dvd recorder.

Surfing the NET, it looks like the G1845 is a Mustek DVD-R100L, given the
reliability and performance I have expereienced with a number of their
(Mustek) other DVD products, I would be keen to try one, given the price
difference between this machine and the so called major brands which are
clearly price gauging at present when you compare the US prices for the same
product.

My parents just picked up the one that was on for $350 at the end of the
year, very nice small unit ( the small silver one ), no time shift, but
records to DVD+RW just fine and dandy, I was able to record some
programs, eject the DVD and put it straigt in the laptop and watch the
movies, was stoked to see it working so easily...
