 | The Calm before the Storm!
I am not looking forward to it. I am in the North-West. The other day we lost our power for hours and you don't 'alf miss the electric's when its not working.
Batten down the Hatches Captain ......
We're all doomed ......

Its very quiet down here in West Cork with just a flutter of a breeze - and no hint of what is about to arrive.
I simply must find a scratch card that's worth scratching and get on that Caribbean cruise I keep promising myself.

 | 2 flashes of lightning here tonight at 11pm and the longest rumbles of thunder I have ever heard in my life - don't mind admitting all these high winds and storms are scaring the shit out of me. - you have such a big force of nature that you just cannot control.
The world is going mad with theses storms, looks like we have to admit now that we are heading towards this global warming thing already the things they said would happen in 50 years time looks like it has come early and we are just getting a taste of things to come only it will be worse :-(
on that happy note I bid you goodnight and hopefully a tree wont fall on my house in the night!

After all the fuss on 5-7 live I was expecting a cataclysm - bit of a damp squib after all that. I've seen much worse around here - there have been times I thought I'd wake up to find the car had blown away.

Just read that the largest iceberg in history has broken free way up north. It is 100 miles long and weighs... a lot.

As if there were no weather extremes before burning fossil fuels was invented. The difference now is that we get to see on TV any extreme weather event anywhere in the world. They were happening long before there were any humans on this planet and they'll be happening long after we're all gone (I reckon a genetic engineering experiment gone wrong will do us all in, that's if the sentient robot army or marauding killer bees don't get us first! ;)

They were prediciting Irish grown bananas and wine. No sign of those round my way...
In the 70's we were supposedly heading rapidly for a new Ice Age. That turned out to be bollocks and I strongly suspect most of the global warming hype will go the same way.

 | It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Andy" saying something like:

Ah never mind; the meteor will get us first. --

Unless we are all wiped out by WW3 next.
