 | I'm using version 5.7 and crystal reports version 3.0.1.6. I made a simple report just listing certain name, address, etc. fields and when I open the selection criteria window in crystal reports to get it to select only the records that have say, 'TEXAS' in the company name field, my computer will freeze and I can't get out of the selection criteria window. I can't even finish typing. then when I hit ctrl+alt+delete and close crystal reports, it will give me an error message saying something about how my dbase.ini (or some sorta name like that) has failed.

Katie,
Which version of Windows is this?
Can you tell us exactly what the error message is?
I cannot think of why this should be happening. Perhaps you are using WinXP
and Crystal Reports, being fairly old, is not running well on it. If it is
WinXP, have you upgraded it to the latest version? I think it is SP2
(service pack 2).
If we cannot get Crystal Reports to filter the rows, you should be able to
get use a .QBE with the report which will allow you to filter the data.
