If you are interested in perhaps looking at some answers to your questions,
you may want to look at
the Answers in Genesis website:
http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/faq/noah.asp

You raise some interesting issues, but it sounds like (though I maybe wrong)
that you have looked at very little material as to what creation scientists
have to say about Noah's flood. I say this because you raise familiar
issues like the age of the earth, lack of evidence for a global flood,
improbability of surviving with changes to the biosphere, etc.

On another front, if you are looking for rational reasons to believe the
Bible, there are many.
I will give you just one reason and ask you to respond with your thoughts.
Throughout history there are many people that have foisted lies on society.
Some of these people have done it through ignorance, and others have done it
willfully.
However, the apostles of Jesus Christ preached to the masses (which included
the enemies of Christ) that they witnessed, touched and dined with Him after
allegedly rising from the dead. The resulty of their preaching was that
many of these enemies were converted to Jesus Christ!
Now suppose that Christ was not resurrected - that would mean that the
apostles willfully lied about Christ's death and resurrection. (By the way,
there were over 500 men that witnessed Him after His resurrection, which
eliminates the hallucination theory - 1 Cor. 15:6). Now if the apostles
knowingly lied re. Christ's death and resurrection, then they were the most
foolish of all men! why? because they were willing to be martyred for a lie,
which they knew was a lie!
Please understand the difference between certain terrorists today that are
willing to die for something they believe to be true, which very obviously
is false e.g. flying planes into buildings or strapping bombs to themselves
to kill others, and believing they will inherit paradise by doing so. Note
that the apostles were eyewitnesses to the events of which they were
preaching (Luke 1:1-3)

You may ask what's my point?
Either Jesus Christ is the greatest impostor the world has ever seen, or He
is the Saviour the world needs.
If the apostles knowingly lied about Christ's death and resurrection, then
they spread lies and died for these lies, knowing that they were lying.
This goes against common sense and against the desire for humans to survive
in the midst of intense persecution, which the apostles suffered!
I believe that the more likely or "rational" explanation is that what the
apostles witnessed re. Christ was true, i.e. that He died for our sins, was
buried and rose again as predicted by the Old Testament scriptures (1 Cor.
15:3-4)
If Christ is the sinless Son of God, then He can't lie. He made some
startling statements regarding Noah's Flood being worldwide (Matthew
24:37-39, Luke 17:26-27 - see the word "all")

If Christ is who He says He is, see one of many startling claims He made
about Himself (e.g. John 5:22), then we are left with an important decision.
Who is Jesus Christ? is he a liar and a deceiver? Or is is He who He
claims to be?
If so, you may receive eternal life today by repenting of your sin and
trusting in Him? If not, you will face Him as your Judge?

Hope this helps a little.

God Bless!
Stephen
