 | A while ago, on uk.rec.scouting, There was a post, and thread stating that if they were District Commissioner, what they would do.
What would you do if you were the Area Commissioner of your area?
If an AC is reading this.... Tell us what you do, or would do different

Since I posted this, it only seems fair that I tell you what I would do differently, at least here.
1) Every time anyone, youth or adult quits, I would make it my responcibility to find out why, and to prevent it from happening in the future.
2) If groups/leaders are not participating in various Area events/meetings, I would find out why. I would solve the problems that they are having.
3) I would request that the Field Rep for our region do school visits in September every year.
4) Any community events, like festivals, or parades and such we would be visible, except when it is not orentated to family or youth values.
5) If a leader felt they have a problem, I would address it, and make sure that they know that there would be no negative recourse against them for bringing this up.
6) All of the administrative stuff they currently do.
While I doubt I would ever want the job, I have yet to be in an area/district in which all 5 things exist. some are better than others, other areas are not.
Your thoughts?
Micheal
