Nope ... and I'm thinking it's just one of the (many) side effects of life
in the Great White North as in ... snow tires, gotta get those snow tires on
.... extension cord, gotta run the extension cord out to the jeep ... winter
windshield washer fluid, ice scraper, check out the snowblower, and where's
my toque, eh? West coast ... 2007 :-)

OT: oops, 1st email was meant for group, Terry

You forgot about sweeping off the roof of the camper van. Last
year, my roof was crushed down about 3" on the bus.

Well, I admit it's getting colder here, but I did not mean to imply
that it was cold enough to freeze servers around the world.

My software has on occasion mungled it's index lists to the point
where groups, even servers seem to have gone wacky, here, frozen in
time it seems if not in space, not allowing me to track threads or
get messages, etc. A circular reference was at one time to blame,
causing Harry's postings to multiply like rats. As if this was not
enough, the responses also replicated themselves in whirling orgies
of reproduction by cloning, internal to my machine, of course.

The test message I sent to see if I could still post, was deleted in
under a minute, by me, but you seem to have been on a hair trigger
to reply. I blame my son, who's multitudinous chat sessions left
open, tune servers, and "free" downloaded spyware, seem to sometimes
cause conflicts between their constituent parts, drivers, indexes
and etcetera.

I am flattered that you hang so closely on even these least
significant of my words that you were able to detect it and reply so
promptly. Thank you. It appears my system is ok, after all, and that
most of our friends here have been hibernating by their morse keys.

I suppose that postings linger for various amounts of time here and
there as they and their cancellation messages migrate across the
network somewhat erratically.

Thank you again for your kind attentions.

Terry K

Any response now is mere chummery, phishing without a hook.

Actually twas merely coincidence ... I was home, down in the basement,
observing the technician replacing a faulty card in my new gas furnace ...
so far so good ... on getting back home from work it's warm in here
..... -15C tonight :-)

Here in Aurora, Ontario I always find two other things to do this time of
year. Well, three, if you include rushing to beat the first cold weather
and get the xmas lights up outside :)

Lightbulbs pop at an incredible rate, perhaps due to the new temps coming in
the doors when they're open, and the basement door to the garage needs the
closer adjusted in order to swing shut faster, or it won't close.

Just to stay on topic, I can admire the boat (it's in the garage) while I do
the adjustment.
