 | What does the term "Newfie" mean to you and do you think Ottawa is giving Newfoundland a raw deal concerning the Atlantic accord.

A lot of Newfoundlanders see the term "Newfie" the same os frog, swamp canary, lily-pad jumper, frigging french parasite and other terms of endearment.

They deserve to be respected. I never use the term "Newfie" in a degrading manner.
I think that Newfowndland is getting a raw deal from Ottawa in the Atlantic accord because Ottawa does not want to create another "Alberta" oil cartel. Ottawa seems to have decided that Canadian oil, especially 'off shore', belongs to all Canadians

It's their coast line at risk and should be entitled to the same rights as it would be on dry land. Newfies need a break.
