Hello,

How would I determine whether to charge a customer PST/HST? If my
server is located in either: Ontario, Alberta, or out of the country?

So for instance:

a) my server is hosted (physically located) in Alberta, and a customer
from Ontario makes a payment from within the website on my server. Do
I charge them PST, and remit that to the province of Ontario?

b) my server is hosted in Ontario, and an Alberta customer makes a
payment. Do I charge need to charge them PST?

c) same server located outside Canada, customer from Alberta and
Ontario makes a payment. Do I need to charge them GST and GST+PST
respectively?

Does anyone know where I can find a primer for this subject?
Thanks.

In that case, for each scenario, substitute the location of the the
server with where the business was incorporated and operates from.
For each case, how would I deal with provincial taxes.

I don't think the location of the server is relevant, its the location of
the business itself(i.e. where the items are sent from).
