 | Hello,
How would I determine whether to charge a customer PST/HST? If my server is located in either: Ontario, Alberta, or out of the country?
So for instance:
a) my server is hosted (physically located) in Alberta, and a customer from Ontario makes a payment from within the website on my server. Do I charge them PST, and remit that to the province of Ontario?
b) my server is hosted in Ontario, and an Alberta customer makes a payment. Do I charge need to charge them PST?
c) same server located outside Canada, customer from Alberta and Ontario makes a payment. Do I need to charge them GST and GST+PST respectively?
Does anyone know where I can find a primer for this subject? Thanks.

 | In that case, for each scenario, substitute the location of the the server with where the business was incorporated and operates from. For each case, how would I deal with provincial taxes.

 | I don't think the location of the server is relevant, its the location of the business itself(i.e. where the items are sent from).
