 | Please do not try to sell MLM or pyramids on the biz groups. Multi-Level Marketing is a person to person selling technique and it just doesn't work when advertised via mass medias. You end up with dozens of folks shouting the same slogans from the same table top. The audience gets angry and goes away. That makes the other folks trying to sell products mad, which is one of the reasons why we discourage MLM on the biz groups.
Because of their lack of experience, MLM'rs tend to over saturate, make exaggerated earning claims, and generally drive off newsgroup readers. Multi-Level Marketing ads belong only on newsgroups which are chartered specifically for MLM *advertising*. BTW, alt.business.multi-level was originally chartered as a discussion group. All the spam there has now made it useless for MLM'rs to discuss their trade.
We have a similar problem with the so-called "affiliates" and other organizations that attempt to talk folks into doing their mass marketing for them. They may mean well, but they end up with hundreds of people posting the same messages to the same newsgroups and everyone's messages get cancelled or rejected. Watch for the "Disappearing Messages" article on the newsgroups or look it up from BIZynet's resources at the http://www.bizynet.com/faq-how2.htm index. The alt.make.money.fast newsgroup is available if you just have to shout about the latest affiliate or easy-bucks deal.
You may discuss Multi-Level Marketing on the appropriate biz discussion groups from a business advice perspective. However, if it sounds like recruiting, a promotion, or appears to be advertising (blatant or disguised) it will be rejected. The anti-MLM flame wars, that occur occasionally, will also not be tolerated.
Thanks, Chris
