 | Can anyone help me with a solution to removing old company file
pointers in the QuickBooks Open Company window when you first startup
the program? I have scoured the registry and found just QBFinder hive
but it still does not drop these duplicate entries (we had to move the
files and open them again which left us with dupes that point to
nothing). Thanks in advance!

Is there a QB .ini file? Often existing paths are stored there.
