 | BEIRUT, Lebanon, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Palestinian-American thinker and university professor Hisham Charabi died in Beirut Thursday night, medical sources said Friday. He was 77. No cause of death was given. Charabi has many renowned political and philosophical writings and has taught philosophy in many prestigious American universities such as Georgetown. Charabi was born in Jaffa in 1927 and was displaced with his family in 1947 upon the creation of the state of Israel. Among his most important works are "Arab Intellectuals and the West" and the "Paternal regime."
