 | The W-AVR we haven't had here, the missing labels we've had many, many times. Invariably for us it has been on a NSU tape.
We got rid of it by banning NSUs and using EPIC's TSIDOFL/TSIDONL to load multiple files to tape from reserved disk pools.

Garry,
We tried that, although it's been awhile. I know we ran for at least a week, if not more without one. Doing so did NOT solve the W-AVR problem which is the reason we took it out.
I don't know if it stopped the missing label issue. That problem is sooooo sporadic it's hard telling. Plus, some of these tapes aren't used, unless needed, which isn't often. We find out about them when EPIC calls for a volser, the tape is mounted, and EPIC doesn't read it. We exaine the tape and find the VOL1 and HDR1 are gone. In some cases some of the data is gone too. This has been an ongoing problem for at least 2 years.
