Hi Pat,

ASP.NET is easy for this. You can set the BackColor property to
Color.Transparent (Web tab of the color properties). Or better yet, assign a
CssClass to the Label or TextBox that does this.

For Windows Forms, I'm not aware of a way to make TextBox's transparent. For
labels and so forth, you set the BackColor as in ASP.NET. But even then,
transparency is only to the control's parent, typically the form. That means
that you won't see other objects behind the control. That's why we have the
option to cut out the text (as a region) in our Graphical Text control.
Transparency doesn't work for TextBoxes, though. You might check out the
bottom of page 118 in the VBTrain.Net book for some more information.
