 | I have a house for sale, block is over 900 square metres.
It is about 900m from the centre intersection in Toowoomba, about 100m from a bus stop that connects direct to USQ (about 30 minutes by bus), and 800m from the city and intercity bus terminals. There are major shopping centres within 1000m and a large complex of fruitshop, butcher, pharmacy, convenience store, asian grocers etc also nearby. (Major shopping outlets like Coles currently close Sundays here in the bush.)
USQ is about 15 minutes drive away.
Three bedrooms. A sleep-out/office on an enclosed western verandah. Driveway access to back yard with a shed that would be a lock-up garage but only for a small car.
It needs restoration work. I'm an invalid pensioner and can't afford to do it up, and the yard is now more than I can handle. There is a townhouse complex at the end of our quiet culdesac, and some blocks in the area have been hatchetted.
I wish I could ask for $400,000 but it needs $30,000 spent on it to turn it into the kind of home that has gone for that sort of money in the last year or two in this suburb.
I'd consider selling for $350,000.
It was rewired completely less than 20 years ago, is structurally sound, was replumbed less than ten years ago and had the hotwater system replaced only a few months ago.
Much of the interior is VJ board, mostly concealed by a 1950's "moderenisation" with masonite. We were trying to renovate, but ran out of funds and the physical abilities as my medical condition got worse.
It is a c.1900 workers cottage.
....Brock.
