 | Channel 7 made it quite obvious that they do no research before airing stories.
At least twice this evening they reported that the passenger capacity of the Sapphire Princess cruise liner was 4000.
Totally incorrect. The real figure is 2,700.
On radio, 2BL's Ian Rogerson (Danno) made a bigger stuffup this afternoon. He proclaimed the ship to be the largest in the world!
The new Queen Mary is some 44,000 tonnes heavier and there are some bulk carriers out there that are more than 3 times than the Queen Mary. One, the Jahre Viking, weighs in at 565,000 tons loaded.
