 | Hi all
I have a Woolworths Ezy Bank account. I would contact support but I forgot about daylight saving and then I remembered here.
The question is what is the quickest and most reliable method of a third party to deposit money into an Woolworths Ezy Bank (supported by Commonwealth Bank). Is it
a) Direct deposit by internet banking - heard delays of 1-2 business days b) Deposit at Woolworths/Big W etc - not possible by third party - needs cards c) **Deposit Over the Counter ** at CBA Branch - I'm not sure is this possible?
As the subject states this is for ebay and is really time sensitive as it is for an event that is on in a few days. I would like to have confirmation of payment before sending it off. This type of event attracts non-conventional types, who may be say less then reliable :P. Not to say it doesn't attract well heeled geeks though.
Thanks for your help

Over the counter or direct deposit can still take 2 days sometimes, you are at the mercy of the banking system and how busy they are. So allow 2 business days and be done with it.

On a similar note, my penultimate boss told me a tale of getting a cheque cleared just before the new 3 working day rule came in. They told him it would be 5 working days, but if he brought it in the next working day it would only take 3. Who makes the short term money off these funds, the joint clearing house or the banks?
Cheers, Anil

The funds are credited to your account as soon the cheque is processed, but only become available to you when it clears. (This should be clearly shown in your account balance if you check it online or at an ATM.) If your account pays interest, then you get the interest on it during that 3-day period.
Since most transaction accounts these days pay either zero interest or a token rate, your question is perhaps best directed towards all those saps out there who lend their cash to their bank - and then pay the bank fees for the priviledge. That makes 3 days look pretty innocuous. -- Phil
