Host is a well known person with a keen interest in thinking that

Maybe, but my question stands. What is accomplished by such a 'joke'? In
one sense you are descending to his level.

Do you think I might be invited? I'll wear my gas mask.

What. pray tell, do you hope to achieve with such a 'joke'?
If, as I imagine, you feel injured by a certain person, why not consult
a solicitor to ascertain if you really do have a genuine grievance?
Othewise I'd suggest that what you just did constitutes, in and of
itself, an illegal action. The person who's gotten up your nose may
indeed be a pain in the neck but may I suggest your tactics are over
the top and ill-advised.
Now, can we get back to the music? Remember that stuff kiddies?

Fail to see what's gotten up your nose, Ayn. A certain person, not
named in this thread, deserves no less than exactly this kind of
ridicule.

Hear hear. When is this stupidity going to end? I for one have really
had a gutful, and don't bother reading this newsgroup every day like I
used to because of crap like this. How dare you constantly bait PA with
garbage like this & then turn around & condemn him when he rattles of
something equally as choice by way of a reply. The hypocrisy is
overwhelming. For God's sake let's just leave well alone & learn to all
play in the same sand pit. Please.

Shame, Laurie. I'm as fair as the next bloke, but given PA's behaviour
here there's nothing he doesn't deserve. If ever anyone brought
misfortune on himself it's PA. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
Given his knowledge and experience he could be a much admired asset to
the group; instead he can't resist abusing even the most innocent
poster. He still has the power to change the situation anytime he
wants; it's up to him. Meantime he deserves everything he gets. If you
have sympathy, save it for those innocents who wander in here in the
belief they'll receive friendly counsel and run straight into hateful
Phil.

As for you suggesting Phil is only responding to what's done to him,
bullshit. He initiates 90% of it, as any regular poster here knows. If
anyone's had a gutful, I've had a gutful of people defending the
indefensible.

That is no reason to inflict the stuff on everyone else.

There is only one solution: IGNORE HIM, with one exception - just have a
standard FAQ to post whenever PA first abuses someone new to the group,
so that the someone can know the basic facts.

It takes two to tango, as the saying goes. Any response to PA generates
a further response, and so on.

Again (and we need 72 point bold caps for this): IGNORE HIM.

In fact, I'll write it for you if you like.
