Have currently the Pioneer 107D dvd burner installed in my computer.

I know it handles most brands of dvd-r @ 4x but when it comes to 8x media I
know some brands are incompatable with the drive.

Can people with this drive recommend what breands of 8x dvd-r meda works
well with this drive?

When I had a 107 I had the 8x on all media patch and it burnt at 8x on
anything I threw in it. Now I have the 108 with the 16x on all media and it
burns at 16x on 90% of the media I tried and 8x on all the rest

I have a pioneer 107D and have had no problems using Generic 8x media
I have had 3/100 coasters and fig that I'd rather pay $20 less per 100
At that rate I would have to have 30/100 failures to be losing my money
notwithstanding that if the failure rate was probably 10% I would swap
becuase of the time loss factor as well.

Do these Orions work with the Pioneer 107? I did ask about the but obviously
you can't read. I'm not interested in knowing about the Pioneer 108 as they
are a different kettle of fish altogether. What works on the Pioneer 108 may
not necessarily work on Pioneer 107

Somone mentioned before that the Orions were just rebadged so called cheap
Princo 8x media. I've use Princo 4x on my Pioneer 107 and they work fine.
How well does 8x Princo Media compare to the Princo 4x media in terms of
compatability?

The ORiON DVD-R 8X are NOT made by Princo.
Not even sure if Princo make a DVD-R 8X disc yet.

Princo web site only has DVD-R 4X listed.
http://www.princo.com.tw/dvd/dvd2.htm

You may want to start a new thread - How are Orion DVD-R 8X media.
