 | Hi all,
I was playing around with dvdshrink and recompressed a dvd. The programs I have to burn dvds with are, at the moment, pretty crap. I decided to have a go at burning the dvd as a data dvd and seeing if it would work as long as I selected the proper filesystem and had the audio_ts and video_ts folders. So, using ulead dvd movie factory's data dvd application, I tried to burn the output from dvdshrink. Using UDF v2.01 and 2.0 it said that there was insufficient room on the DVD-R. So I switched to UDF v1.5 and it was able to fit all the data on the DVD. Putting it in my region free pioneer DV-344 player it wouldn't load and ejected itself after about 45 seconds. Putting it back in my usb 2.0 external pioneer DVR107D burner it played fine. So, my questions are:
What's the difference between these UDF file systems?
Any ideas why it would play in the burner and not in the DV-344, which has played these discs before? Is it because I burned it as data? (Ulead DVD Movie factory does not let you take audio_ts and video_ts files and burn them with a video-dvd function like nero does)
Cheers,
Ari
