Do it yourself-rent the equipment and buy the spot remover/detergent from
the Safeway/Coles supermarket enquiries desks-have used it myself a few
times and you can do a better job yourself, than most of the crappy
contractors.
I don't know about electrodry though.

The Coles/Safeway machines are useless. Rug Doctor is the best
non-commercial machine. Available from a few supermarkets, drycleaning
shops, and all Bunnings stores. We have 4 dogs are do the whole house once a
quarter. Rug Doctor chemicals are expensive - buy in bulk from cleaning
supply stores.

Most real estate agents wouldhave a tame steam cleaner for rentals - ask
one and be sure to tell the guy who recommended him.
