I'm running Windows XP with two monitors through a dual head Radeon
video card.

On the main screen, I have my taskbar. But, I run lots of programs, and
the taskbar fills up and starts another line of tasks, with a scroll at
the side so I can select which line I want showing. That's just
annoying. So, questions :

1. Can I make the taskbar use one line only, compressing each task
indicator smaller and smaller, like Win2000 used to have as default ?

2. Can I stretch my taskbar across both monitors, so there's more
real-estate to put the task indicators on ?

3. Can I have two separate taskbars - one on each monitor. Each taskbar
shows only the tasks which are at home on that monitor ?

I know I can increase the width of the taskbar so there's always two
lines showing, or move it over to the side of the screen, but I don't
want to do that.

Thanks,

Chris

PS. When I maximise a window, it maximises to fit the monitor its on.
I've seen other people with dual monitors, and when they maximise a
window it maximises to take up both monitors, half the window on each
one. I want to keep my current behaviour.

Chris....

Had been trying this myself for over a year with ZERO luck.

Checked out the ATI newsgroups and even emailed ATI and it looks like
such a thing is just not supported in their drivers. NT4 or XP.

I had been used to a full width taskbar on my trusty old Matrox G400 and
was a bit of a let down when I switched to the ATI.

Since then I have switched to an nVidia card and it does have the full
screen taskbar support.

Sorry to be of no help, but let me know *if* you ever do solve the problem.

Cheers,
Gavern

Thanks Kaz. Nearly exactly what I was looking for. "Nearly" because I
prefer free stuff. This is more than $50.

Gavern - take note. You wanted me to let you know if I solved the
problem. I did. Let me know if you find a free alternative though.
