Hello Moby,
10/ 15 years ago the 'China White' was generally produced by the MTA (Mong
Tai Army) run by Khun Sa. The locals referred to it as #4 and it ran about
89%. The bags were stamped 'Double UOGLOBE" and had the image of two lions
over a globe of the world....but this is actually an 'old' label that was
accepted and reused. They sold 'bags' and 'boxes' a bag was 750 grams. Back
in the late '80's a 'bag' worked out to about 5 bucks U.S. gram...on the far
side of the pond. The UWSA (United Wa State Army) entered a war with the MTA
and eventually won and took over Shan State. Interestingly, the Wa were
previously employed by the MTA as hired guns to transport shipments. The Wa
have come a long way since then. This is all within Burma I should add.
Today....Khun Sa is alive and sick in Yangon (Rangoon)
and the Wa are making more money producing methamphetamines and complying
with the DEA in opium reduction programs.
PS....if you have only come across good product 5 times in the last 15 years
, you must reside below the 49th parallel.
