 | The Change has already taken place. Disney has looked for over a year for someone to buy the stores. They will continue with the same Disney products you have known.

 | The Disney Store has changed during the last several years. I used to LOVE going because they had so much stuff to go nuts over. They sold adult clothing and that's where I got most of my kids clothes when they were little. There used to be TONS of Mickey Mouse items but the past couple of years Mickey seemed to have vanished, there's hardly any adult clothes in there at all meaning pants and nice button down shirts etc. It basically kept me away and I stopped going there years ago. I used to go once a week when they first opened here in Illinois but after that first change I was lucky if I got there 3 times a year. The one in Oak Brook Illinois was the most disappointing because they had a great section that they were in, the room was huge, they had all the animated characters up against the walls near the ceiling and that big huge screen in the back with all the stuffed animals piled in front. Now THAT is when it was a Disney Store, anyway, they had moved about 3 or 4 stores down and the excuse back then was they were going to remodel the original store and move back but that never happened. When they moved out of their original spot they lost that Disney "smell" that we all know and love. The Disney Store has proven to be a real downer. It took 10 years for them to finally hire me for seasonal. When they first opened I applied at least 6 times a year and there answer was they already hired everyone they needed, then I finally lucked out this past September and they hired me only for me to find out that not even a month later the stores were being sold to the Childrens' Place. The store in Lombard lost all their original employees or so we were told because none of them wanted to stay there and work for the Children's Place. My store in Oak Brook had 38 employees which didn't give me many hours at all, I wasn't very happy and that too was a big disappointment for me after waiting all those years to finally work there and be a cast member so I quit and I don't even miss it. I wish we could get a store like they opened in New York this past week, why can't one come to Chicago?! If you have any inside info on that....spill!
