Now, see - I don't normally much care for Creation Cons. Not that they are
in any way crooks; they run a commercial business with all that entails,
but they do at least pay their guests promptly, treat them professionally,
pay their taxes, don't rip off charities and don't profit from exploitation
of unpaid volunteers. I don't care for their events because they are not
Proper Conventions. I like fan run cons, which I consider to be catering to
the true community of fans.

But.

Creation are now going to be running Stargate Cons, probably in the UK.

This means no one else can run said events on a halfway commercial basis, as
Creation will own the rights. And Creation have Big Expensive Lawyers.

This, therefore, shits all over a certain Grubby Crook in a Mac with a con
name resembling a large lupine carnivore.

Oh Joy! Oh deep and abiding Joy!

Incidentally, last I heard he was busy organising a Battlestar
Galactica con.

Indeed.

.... and Jonathan Frakes was at The Enterprise pub in London this
evening, but sadly I had to turn down the invite to go :-(

Would have loved to chat about Thunderbirds, too...

Paul.

Not that I'm intending to go, but I see they're charging USD319 (£174
according to them... I've not checked the exchange rate for myself).

I knew there was a reason I'd stopped going to conventions...
